HeadUp is a revolutionary new collar designed to relieve pain and make it easier to perform daily tasks such as eating and communicating, for patients suffering from motor neuron diseases (MND).
The HeadUp collar has been designed by patients for patients, using an aerospace technical textile called Outlast.
The award-winning HeadUp collar was originally a collaborative project with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS, the Trust Foundation, the University of Sheffield and the University of Sallam in Sheffield.
Characteristics:
Designed to provide additional head and neck support for people with head control problems or cervical muscle weakness. The cervical collar emerged as a complete redesign of the existing collars and aims to facilitate daily tasks of patients such as eating, driving or communicating. For its design, the participation of the patients themselves in the research and development of the materials was fundamental.
