TYPE CODE: OTD010B (Orthosis for pectus carinatum (keel thorax), prefabricated)
C.I.: O0011702
Pectus Carinatum is a protruding deformity of the anterior chest wall that includes the sternum and adjacent ribs, which can be associated with scoliosis. There are two forms, the chondro-gladiolaR, which affects the lower part of the sternum and parasternal cartilages, and the chondro-manubrium form, which is more superior and horseshoe-shaped, affecting the first three ribs.
This orthosis, through its design, allows greater or lesser force control of the anterior/posterior compression.
Flexible metal structure.
The washable padding provides comfort to the patient, allowing him to maintain activity without limitations.
Universal size
Indications
This orthosis is indicated for the conservative treatment of the deformity of the pectus carinatum, mainly in its chondro-gladiolar form; its adjustable compression system (from 62 cm. perimeter) allows to control the growth of the protrusion and can even flatten it.
